First baby born on Middlemore Hospital's 75th anniversary
At 2.17 am on 3 May 2022, baby Ngati-Weston was born, becoming the first baby born at Middlemore Hospital on our 75th anniversary.
The new bundle of joy and mother were supported through labour and birth by midwives Jana Walshe and Christy Yu.
One of Middlemore Hospital's midwives Emma who was caring for the Mum and baby whilst on Middlemore's maternity ward, delivered a basket of goodies to the new Mum to celebrate the occasion. "I love my job," she said.
Chief Midwife Christina Mallon said, "being able to give a lovely gift celebrating this new baby joining the Ngati-Weston whaanau on this special anniversary is wonderful."
The basket was provided with support from the Middlemore Foundation.
