The Fanau Ola Nurses have helped to cover staff shortages and strike action, measles vaccination, as well as being heavily involved in the COVID response for Counties Manukau, assisting with MIQ, vaccination and community education and support. Time and time again this team has stepped up beyond the call of duty to serve the needs of the people of Counties Manukau.
The orderly team at Middlemore Hospital works extremely hard to allow our theatres to work efficiently - taking patients to and from theatre and helping to position them. The orderlies are always in demand, often needing to be several places at one – but they work hard and don't complain. The Orderlies are incredibly kind to patients – which makes all the difference as patients are often anxious and afraid, so a friendly chat with an orderly really helps to put them at ease.
Anaesthetic Technician Team - Clinical Coaches
The Anaesthetic team coaches are exceptional at demonstrating all of our values. They demonstrate kindness and together on a daily basis and value all of their colleagues. In the last 2 years the anaesthetic technicians have experienced some difficult times (Whakaari and COVID to name two) but they have come out smiling, still delivering exceptional patient care and excellent training.
