Since the country entered level 4 lockdown our laboratory teams have scaled up their COVID-19 testing capacity, big time. Daily COVID-19 testing through our laboratory has increased from 500 to 5500 tests per day. The CM Health medical laboratory workforce consists of scientists, technicians, and clinicians.
COVID-19 patient numbers to increase at Middlemore
The first patient with COVID-19 arrived at Middlemore Hospital March last year. Since then our teams have been safely treating all our patients, regardless of their health emergency. As community cases rise, Middlemore Hospital is ready to admit and care for more patients with COVID-19 related illnesses.
Extra support available to those doing it tough in lockdown
We know that some in our community will be doing it tough especially with the news that the lockdown in Auckland will be extended for at least another two weeks.

COVID Level 4 - CM Health Guidance for visitors, outpatients
With Auckland moving to Alert Level 4 at 11:59 on Tuesday, 17 August CM Health has made changes to bring its Visitor Policy in line with the new Alert Level. Visiting at our facilities will only be on essential and compassionate grounds, or for birthing partners.
