Cessation of Patient Shuttle Service

Media release 14 May 2018 | Counties Manukau Health will no longer be providing a free patient shuttle service to the Manukau SuperClinic, effective from 18 May 2018.

The decision comes after demand for the service has been declining with increasing costs to keep the shuttles on the road.

“The patient shuttle service is run by our volunteer drivers and they do a great job transporting patients to and from their appointments,” says Brad Healey GM Medicine.

“However declining demand and the need to provide better cost effective services for our population means we can no longer afford to keep the shuttle service running.”

Mr Healey says patients are being notified about the shuttle service discontinuing and are being advised to talk to their family doctor if they are unable to get to their appointments.

The shuttle drivers are being asked to consider other volunteer roles at CM Health.
