Counties Manukau Health Board statement
The Counties Manukau Health Board (the Board) has reviewed today’s Government announcement on the proposed health system reforms.
The Board is developing a programme of work to prepare for the reforms, which are scheduled to come into effect from mid-next year, with particular focus on:
- Increasing our capacity to identify and deliver health equity opportunities for Maaori and Pacific communities;
- Speeding up BAU activities especially in relation to facilities development and community-based initiatives;
- Providing greater opportunities for our community to have their voices heard.
In addition, the Mana Whenua Board, with whom we work closely, will be even more involved in our Board processes moving forward.
We look forward to receiving the health system review information as it is provided, to supporting our staff through this process, and to continuing to deliver the highest quality healthcare to our community.
