Confidence in CM Health means Crown Monitor is no longer required

News 11 March 2021 | As confidence has been restored in Counties Manukau Health (CM Health), a Crown Monitor is no longer required to oversee its governance.

In 2018, the then Health Minister David Clark appointed Ken Whelan to provide the Board with the extra support required towards improving leadership and governance.

CM Health was advised recently by current Health Minister Andrew Little that this appointment ceased late last month.

CM Health Chair Vui Mark Gosche welcomes the news;

“This is testament to the hard work of CM Staff and Ken Whelan whose guidance helped us navigate this challenging time.

“We look forward to continuing to provide quality care to the people of Counties Manukau.”
