Extra support available to those doing it tough in lockdown

We know that some in our community will be doing it tough especially with the news that the lockdown in Auckland will be extended for at least another two weeks.

So it is very welcome that a range of new support measures for those in need - with extra money allocated to them - have been announced by the Government.

You can check your eligibility for MSD assistance here or call 0800 009 559 to talk to someone about your situation.

A list of food banks and other food help services can be found here.

If you have an urgent need or can’t access other support, contact your local Civil Defence and Emergency Management (CDEM) Group here.

A pamphlet outlining all of these options and more is available here.

We know that this lockdown has brought new challenges which have meant that communities that would normally pull together and support each other – like ours - are much less able to do so.

We want to remind those in need to make use of the services available and ask those who can to help out where possible.

But most of all stay safe and be kind to each other, and yourselves!

And if you need some tips on how to take care of your mental wellbeing check this out.
