International Year of the Nurse - nurturing the Nightingales

This year is the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife, as well as International Nurses Day (12 May).

To celebrate our nurses, many of them have entered the Nursing Now Nightingale Challenge – an initiative designed to encourage the next generation of nurses and midwives to be leaders, practitioners, and advocates in health.

We encouraged our nurses and asked their departments to put forward applications of interest in future career progression, ambitions, or ideas. Selected staff will be supported in their career development which will help them reach their desired career goals in nursing.

Ten of our nurses have been selected as part of the challenge.

  • Ashleigh Swindles
  • Jan Benzon Tan Chan (Benz)
  • Carly Brown
  • Emma Oppert
  • Jennifer McNabb
  • Josephine Borchert
  • Rawinia Mikaere
  • Lauliiutuloa Wesley Afoa
  • Moefilifilia Aoelua
  • Jenny Ly

Congratulations to the nurses selected.
