In the interests of keeping our patients, visitors, staff and hospital safe Counties Manukau DHB will continue to limit visitors to Middlemore and maintain the existing public health measures.

However, the move to Alert Level 1 has meant that Middlemore’s visiting policy can be relaxed slightly.

A key support person can visit between 8am and 8pm or at all times by arrangement for compassionate reasons - please check with the charge nurse on the ward your whaanau are on.

Visitors including repeat visitors, outpatients and their support person will continue to be screened, using questions based on current COVID-19 case definition, and registered to enable contact tracing prior to entering the site.

Children under the age of 16 may visit between 2pm and 8pm by arrangement for compassionate reasons - please check with the charge nurse on the ward your whaanau are on.

Please note that our community staff will continue to do health checks by phone and at the door before entering homes and have been advised to wear masks if they or their patients are more comfortable with those precautions.
