New Community Testing Centres (CTCs) opening in metro Auckland

Latest News 31 July 2020 | We’re introducing a new model for delivering testing for COVID-19 in our Auckland communities.

Our new community testing centres (CTCs) will replace the community based assessment centres (CBACs) we set up in March and April.

These centres offer a long-term and sustainable approach to testing in the community. We’re also introducing more mobile testing units to provide even easier access to swabbing.

Since 22 May, more than 80,000 community tests have been carried out across Auckland – all negative.

The only COVID-19 cases currently in Auckland are people who have recently returned from overseas into managed isolation and quarantine facilities.

Even though there are currently no cases of community transmission, everyone who is offered a test should take up that offer.

Testing is an important part of the strategy to detect any community cases of COVID-19 and part of our whole of community approach to combating the pandemic.

If you are concerned about the movements of the man who was later diagnosed with COVID-19 in South Korea, please visit the Auckland Regional Public Health Service website.
