Latest news 15 January 2017 | New Zealand Resident Doctors Association members are undertaking industrial action at Counties Manukau Health and other DHBs throughout the country from 7am Tuesday 17 January 2017 until 8am Friday 20 January 2017.
During this period we will have a reduced number of doctors available.
We would like to assure all our patients that we are here if you need us. Other medical staff will be available and we will be providing acute services including through our Emergency Department.
The strike will not affect women preparing for childbirth. If you go into labour during the strike, follow your normal birth plan and seek assistance from your lead maternity carer such as your midwife, a primary birthing unit (at Pukekohe, Botany or Papakura) or the Birthing and Assessment Unit at Middlemore Hospital.
During the strike, if people experience a condition that is not urgent or severe please contact Healthline on 0800 611 116 or their GP in the first instance.

We have had to reschedule some of our non-urgent patient appointments and most of our elective surgery. Impacted patients have been contacted directly. If you have not heard about your appointment and it was scheduled for these days then please contact us on 0800 277 1661.
Our health care services will return to normal at the conclusion of the strike on Friday 20 January 2017.
