Combined Media Release from the metro Auckland region District Health Boards 17 January 2020
Contingency plans are in place at metropolitan Auckland DHBs to minimise the impact of the three-month sonographers’ strike on our patients and ensure we continue to deliver the highest-possible standard of service.
This strike is designed to be disruptive while avoiding a full withdrawal of labour and will affect waiting lists for some non-urgent ultrasound tests.
We are communicating with affected patients and remind people to come to their appointments, unless we contact them directly to say otherwise.
The DHBs are committed to working with all affected parties to find a mutually agreed solution to the current situation.
