
Latest News 16 June 2020|To celebrate the start of Matariki, a rongoaa Maaori garden was unveiled at Middlemore Hospital earlier this week.
The garden is made up of kawakawa trees, harakeke and manuka plants - symbolising the importance of holistic wellbeing for whaanau in the Counties Manukau rohe.
The special occasion, hosted by the Counties Manukau Health (CM Health) Maaori Health team, was shared with CM Health Board Chair Vui Mark Gosche, CM Health Chief Executive Fepulea'i Margie Apa, local manawhenua and other senior CM Health staff.
After the unveiling, a mihimihi was held, as well as performances from the Awhina-i-te-Kaupapa kapa haka group.
