Mental Health First Aid: Our MHFA 2-Day workshop teaches you how to assist someone who is experiencing mental health distress, developing a mental illness or is in a mental health crisis.
Our experienced facilitators teach you how to use the MHFA ALGEE five-step action plan to respond to someone in distress, be that a family member, friend, work colleague or someone in your community.
The workshop is interactive and enables conversations about mental health topics listed below.
Mental illness topics covered:
- Substance misuse
Mental health crisis topics covered:
- Suicidal thoughts and behaviour
- Panic attacks
- Severe psychotic states
- Severe effects from alcohol or drug misuse
- Aggressive behaviour
Subway lunch and tea/coffee/water are provided. You are encouraged to bring your own snacks.
Please Note: Minimum number of people registered to attend is 16. The workshop may be cancelled if less than 16 people register.
