Celebrating International Nurses Day - Meet Monteisha

Friday, 12  May is Internataional Nurses Day!

We're so proud of all our Counties Manukau Nurses, and for the next three days we'll be providing profiles on three of our fine RNs.

First, a Wahine Toa from Ward 7 Middlemore.

This is Monteisha Lafaele who's been in her role for about two years. Here in Ward 7 she is affectionately known as Monty.

She says: "This ward specialises in the healing of people with issues like lung problems. There's lots of assistance with breathing difficulties, along with chest drains and the like."

"I find a smile and a gentle touch goes a long way."

Monteisha says it's great being surrounded by so many awesome colleagues.

"I'm looking forward to my nursing future and my desire is to enter a role as a Clinical Educator, helping students and new graduates to be the best they can be."
