Kia ora tatou Here at Counties Manukau we’re very pleased with the recent announcements on easier immigration paths for health personnel wanting to join us from overseas. On the list are some professions we urgently need, and this should pay dividends in our hospitals and services.

To the start of this week there have been over 87,000 COVID-19 cases in Counties Manukau region. We hope we are plateauing in case numbers this week and we are looking forward to an easing up of hospitalisations in the coming weeks.

Our focus on preparation for the omicron variant of COVID-19 continues. The outbreak of omicron in our community will place demand on our hospital system as we know it will rapidly infect many people. It’s pleasing to see the commencement of the paediatric COVID-19 vaccination this week.

Latest News 27 August 2019 | The measles vaccine (MMR vaccine) is now being offered to patients and visitors in Middlemore Hospital’s Emergency Department starting Friday, 23 August and running over the next couple of weeks from 1pm-9. 30pm daily.
